Outfit of the Day # 17- Beach Edition

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

I hope everyone that is fasting is having an easy time. It seems to get easier everyday for me and for that I am very thankful because I am not nice when I'm hungry. I get hangry especially if I'm hot.

Today's Outfit of the day post is a throwback to almost a year ago. (How time flies!) When I was in Grenada in the Caribbean. I would wear this outfit when I was going to the beach or knew that I was going to get wet.

Please excuse the lack of makeup and my hijab. The humidity and wind was relentless.

These pictures are from two different days. They entire outfit is the same except the hijabs.

The long racer back tank top is from Target. It was in their sleepwear section. (Yay for re-purposing!) Its thin very soft and stretchy. I can never remember where I bought these white shirts from. But, they can be found at clothing store that has a basics line. The green cargo pants might be from Old Navy or The Gap. I'm not exactly sure. The green hijab in the first picture is from J.C. Penny. The hijab in the second picture is from a store called Rainbow.

So, That's it.
Until Next Time,

Aleema :)

Outfit of the Day #16

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

Today I wanted to share my outfit that I wore on Saturday. It was the outfit I wore in this Instagram picture:

If you don't follow me on Instagram, I have button for all my social media on the right. So, you can follow me if you'd like. I went with a friend to the Cherry walk near the Hudson River. It was such a nice day out. We had frozen yogurt and did a lot walking around. Now, if only the weather could have stayed that nice. It's supposed to rain all week.

This is my outfit laid out:

The top can technically be used as a dress. I bought it from Forever 21. I don't remember where I got the long sleeve shirt. You could probably find something similar in the basic section of any clothing store. I've had the green cargo pants since high school, I believe they're from T.J. Maxx. The bag is from Target. I bought it online. It's smaller than I thought it would be but it still fits a lot of stuff. The scarf is from J.C. Penny. The pink inner head piece was from a local Islamic store in Brooklyn.

The sandals are also from Forever 21. I like the rose gold that goes across. It makes it a little more special than your average flip flop.
Sorry about the squinting in the picture above. The sun was really bright that day!

So, That's it.
Until Next Time,
Aleema

The Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience

Assalamu Alaykum/ Hi,

This post is the second fashion event that happened in the Dubai Mall. The first, Harper's Bazaar Fashion show, was in the Mall of the Emirates. We misread the time and didn't make this fashion show. However, there was still much to be seen.

The two pictures below are of the shoe district. The place to buy your shoes.

I manage to get myself a cake pop in Juicy Couture. Only to realize that it was chocolate. :( Not a fan.

The blurriest picture ever!

Most of my friends and I won this cosmetic case from Juicy Couture.
I like it. It's handy. I'm currently using it for my lip products.

So, that's it for now,

Until Next Time

Outfit of the Day # 15

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

I was in Dubai Mall yesterday and I was really loving my outfit. So, I decided to do a Outfit of the Day post. I know I've been lagging on these.

Shirtdress: American Eagle
I've been loving American Eagle and Forever 21 here. I've spent way more money in these stores than I really should have. I also took this picture in the AE dressing rooms. heh
This dress was still on the rack when I took the picture. Awkward.
Cardigan: Kohl's
The cardigan has a lace back so I had let my hijab hang more in the back rather than pulling it forward like normal. Otherwise, the sides of my shoulders would have been showing.
Hijab: ICNA
Bag: Forever 21
Another more recent purchase. :)

So, that's it.
Until Next Time,

Aleema :)

Harper's Bazaar World Fashion

Assalam wa Alaykum/ Hi,

Eid Mubarak! So last week there were some fashion events happening in the malls of Dubai. The first one that I attended was the Harper's Bazaar World Fashion show. This one occurred in the Mall of the Emirates. So, I'd thought that I would share some pictures.

After all these beautiful pieces were modeled for us, Nancy Ajram was brought on stage for an interview. I'm pretty sure she is the only reason why most of those people came. At least she is why I went.

Overall, it was a fun experience. It would have been awesome if she performed though. Now, she's in Cleveland, touring. If she's anywhere in the tri-state area I'll be upset. It would happen when I'm out of the country.

Until Next Time

Outift of the Day # 13/ A Day at the Museum

Assalam wa Alaykum/ Hi,

This post is going to be an outfit of the day. It has been a long time since I've done one. This post will also have some pictures on my day at the Museum of Natural History yesterday. Yesterday was a beautiful day it was warm but not too hot. I miss it because today is all rainy.

This was my outfit for the day at the museum.
Dress: American Eagle
I got the hijab from a vendor at the bazaar at a previous Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) convention.
I've had the undershirt for many years now and forgot where I got it from. My bag is from one of Kathy Van Zeeland's older collections. I bought my shoes from a local store. They are wedged sandals.
I bought these beautiful bangles that I'm wearing in the previous pictures from fusionjewels.com. I put up a closeup right above. They came from India. I saw something similar in a music video, I believe, and I had to have them.

My day at the museum was fun and exhausting. I actually did end up changing my shoes.
The space exhibit was first. I found out that I weigh 22 pounds on the Moon. There was an interesting exhibit on Islam in Africa. Then there was another one on Islam in Asia.

I couldn't takes as many pictures as I would have liked because my phone died. So, that's it for now.
Until Next Time
Aleema :)
