Silver Sun Inspired Makeup Look

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

When the Alluring Aquatic collection came out I told myself I would only buy things I don't have and would use. I bought the mineralized eyeshadow in Silver Sun because it was so unique. I've never seen anything like before. That fulfilled one part of my requirement. Now, I had to use it which I found wasn't happening. So, I did this make up look around that eyeshadow. I used my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.
This the final look:

Here are the products used:

Here are the steps:

In case you lost the insert with the names on it like I did I've put numbers that correspond to the steps that the colors are used in.

1) Prime face and eyelids with respective primers. I used my Urban Decay Primer Potion on my eyes and the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer on my face.

2) Blend Salted Caramel into the crease and upward slightly towards the browbone. I used this color as my transition color.

3) Blend Semi Sweet into the crease. Concentrate the color in the socket.

4) Spray an eyeshadow brush with water or fix plus. I ended up using my Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray. I don't have fix plus and it was the closest thing to me.

5) Place Silver Sun on the lid. Keep it below the crease. Keep applying until you get the desired color payoff.

6) Blend Triple Fudge into the outer 'v' of the eyelid.

7) Place Gilded Ganache on the outer 1/3 of the eyelid.

8) Blend Haute Chocolate into the crease. Bring it down slightly to blend with Silver Sun.

9) Apply White Chocolate to the brow bone.

10) Apply your foundation. I used my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in the shade Sandalwood.

11) Apply your concealer under your and you face if necessary. I used my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Caramel under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, and on my forehead. I took any left over product on the brush I used to blend out the concealer and applied it my cupids bow and my chin.

12) Apply Silver Sun on the inner half of the bottom lash line closest to the tear duct.

12) Apply Gilded Ganache on the other half of the bottom lash line.

14) Place Creme Brulee on the inner part of the eye near the tear duct.

15) Apply mascara. I applied Tarte's Light Camera Lashes first and applied Too Faced's Better Than Sex over it.

16) Apply a peachy/ coral blush. I used NYX cream blush in Orange. It comes off as a peachy color on my skin tone.

17)Apply a highlighter  if you want. I used Maybelline's highlighting blush in Coral.

18) Apply a mattifying powder. I used Hard Candy's Welcome Matte powder.

19) Apply you lip product of choice. I used Milani's lip gloss in Coral. It came off looking clear on me. I Also could have use Revlon's lip butter in Tutti Frutti or Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Pandore.

20) Set your make up with a setting spray.

I changed my hijab to show that is still a neutral look. Only a little more darker and smokier. I would wear this out in the daytime if I felt like. However, that's me. I've worn blue eyeshadow out because I felt like it so... Please ignore my eyebrow they look horrendous.

I will honestly say there are some steps that I would switch around. But, because I was freestyling and that's the order I went in to makes things work.
So, that's it!
What do you think? Would you like to see more looks with this eyeshadow?

Until Next Time,

Aleema :)

June Favorites!

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

June has ended therefore it's time for me to share my favorites. Also, Ramadan Kareem to everyone that will be observing the holy month. There are some things from my previous favorites post that I'm still using such as my Chocolate Bar palette, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, and my Beauty Blender. They won't be mentioned in this favorites but you can read my May favorites here.

1) Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Pandore

This one is a new love of mine. It's long lasting and very pigmented! You can read my review here.

2) Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer

This my go to when I don't want to wear foundation but I want some kind of coverage. It's a little pricey but it does what it needs to do. You can read my review of it here.

3) MAC Lipstick in Mystical + Jordana Lip liner in Sliver Lilac

The MAC lipstick is from the Alluring Aquatic Collection. This combination gives me a very natural looking lip color. When I wear the lipstick alone I don't like the way it looks on my lips. So, I wear the lip liner under it to give it more of a purple undertone.

I'm wearing this lip duo in the picture below.

4)Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

This foundation is another new love. It doesn't keep me matte all day, but it keeps me matte longer than most foundations that I've tried. I recently reviewed this foundation. I'm in the shade 6W1 Sandalwood.

5) Orange is the New Black

I haven't done a miscellaneous post about one of my favorite TV shows in a while so I decided to add one to this month's favorites. I surprisingly became hooked on this show. I've heard the hype but  didn't expect it to get drawn in. I watched all two seasons on Netflix in a week. That's how bad it was. I expected the main character Piper to be in the fashion industry because of the title of the show. But, she wasn't. Despite that the show is well written and addictive. I recommend it if you a lot of free time you need to fill. This show is for mature viewers so make sure you're of age and there are no children in the room with you.
So, That's it.
Until Next Time,
Aleema :)

Review: Dior Addict Fluid Stick

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

It seems that I'm becoming a Lippy addict. I went from having like 5 lip products to at least 30. (I haven't counted them.) When I saw the Dior addict fluid sticks my interest was immediately piqued. However, the retail price of $35 kept me from placing an order right away.

I did see that Sephora.com had samples that were available as apart of the 3 samples you are allowed with an order. So I decided try those out.

The sample has 4 different shades in it and it came with an applicator that's in the actual product. It came with 338 Mirage, 551 Aventure, 575 Wonderland, and 754 Pandore. There are 17 shades in total in the line.

Mirage is a ligtht apricot color. On me it's a peachy nudish color. Aventure is an orange color with a red undertone. Wonderland is a fuchsia red. Pandore is a corally pinkish red.

Without flash:

I bought the shade 754 Pandore. It was my favorite out of the four shades in the sample. But, I like the other 3 shades as well and I probably may end up buying more of these.

The packaging of this product reminds me of the Maybelline Color Elixers. It has the shape of a lipstick in the clear plastic packaging with 'Dior' carved in the side. It also has the signature Dior Addict round top. It has a sponge tip applicator. The only con I found with this packaging is that when I store it to lie down some of the product seems to run into the cap. So, I store it standing up with my makeup brushes for the time being.

I find the consistency of this product to be a little strange. When it's first applied it's very wet. I do not recommend rubbing your lips to work the product in and blend it out. The product will stick and bunch on certain parts of your lips. You should use the applicator to work the product into your lips. Its very pigmented and glossy.

On Dior's website it says that the fluid stick formula is made with water not wax. It's not lipstick or a lip gloss but a hybrid of the two. So if you layer lipsticks with a gloss, it will knock out that second step.

The staying power of this product depends on how frequently you eat of course. It can last anywhere between 4 to 6 hours. It does have a light smell that lasts until it's no longer on your lips.

I'm wearing the fluid stick in the picture above.

Bottom line: I really like the fluid sticks and plan on getting more. The only problem I have is which shade.

So, That's it.
What colors do you have or are interested in buying?
Until Next Time,
Aleema
