Fall Makeup Must haves!

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

Since we're fully in the season of Fall, I thought that I would share my fall makeup essentials.

1. Rose Gold

For some reason rose gold seems especially relevant in the fall to me. So, this is the month that I pull out anything and everything rose gold. In the picture above I have my beloved Naked 3 palette and my BECCA rose gold highlighter.

2. Bold Lips

This one is a fall universal for everybody. Dark lips in the fall are more than appropriate they're almost a requirement. So, my picks are MAC's 'Rebel',Cailyn lipgloss, Maybelline's 'Divine Wine' and Plum lip gloss

3. Mauve lips

This a newer trend. I told myself I wouldn't talk about the Kylie Jenner lip trend, but here I am talking about it. Everyone wants the dark rose lip color. A suggestion from me would be Maybelline's 'Touch of Spice.'

4. Dark Eyes

Fall is the season of intense color. We see it in nature and we also reflect it in our makeup. Two of my picks for this are Colourpop Cosmetics eyeshadows in Bae and Shameless

5. Bold Cheeks

Just like every other part of the face, cheeks can be bold during the Fall. One blush that I particularly like that may be considered unusual is NARS' blush 'Taj Mahal.'

So, That's it.What are your fall essentials?

Until Next Time,

Aleema :)

Silver Sun Inspired Makeup Look

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

When the Alluring Aquatic collection came out I told myself I would only buy things I don't have and would use. I bought the mineralized eyeshadow in Silver Sun because it was so unique. I've never seen anything like before. That fulfilled one part of my requirement. Now, I had to use it which I found wasn't happening. So, I did this make up look around that eyeshadow. I used my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.
This the final look:

Here are the products used:

Here are the steps:

In case you lost the insert with the names on it like I did I've put numbers that correspond to the steps that the colors are used in.

1) Prime face and eyelids with respective primers. I used my Urban Decay Primer Potion on my eyes and the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer on my face.

2) Blend Salted Caramel into the crease and upward slightly towards the browbone. I used this color as my transition color.

3) Blend Semi Sweet into the crease. Concentrate the color in the socket.

4) Spray an eyeshadow brush with water or fix plus. I ended up using my Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray. I don't have fix plus and it was the closest thing to me.

5) Place Silver Sun on the lid. Keep it below the crease. Keep applying until you get the desired color payoff.

6) Blend Triple Fudge into the outer 'v' of the eyelid.

7) Place Gilded Ganache on the outer 1/3 of the eyelid.

8) Blend Haute Chocolate into the crease. Bring it down slightly to blend with Silver Sun.

9) Apply White Chocolate to the brow bone.

10) Apply your foundation. I used my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in the shade Sandalwood.

11) Apply your concealer under your and you face if necessary. I used my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Caramel under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, and on my forehead. I took any left over product on the brush I used to blend out the concealer and applied it my cupids bow and my chin.

12) Apply Silver Sun on the inner half of the bottom lash line closest to the tear duct.

12) Apply Gilded Ganache on the other half of the bottom lash line.

14) Place Creme Brulee on the inner part of the eye near the tear duct.

15) Apply mascara. I applied Tarte's Light Camera Lashes first and applied Too Faced's Better Than Sex over it.

16) Apply a peachy/ coral blush. I used NYX cream blush in Orange. It comes off as a peachy color on my skin tone.

17)Apply a highlighter  if you want. I used Maybelline's highlighting blush in Coral.

18) Apply a mattifying powder. I used Hard Candy's Welcome Matte powder.

19) Apply you lip product of choice. I used Milani's lip gloss in Coral. It came off looking clear on me. I Also could have use Revlon's lip butter in Tutti Frutti or Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Pandore.

20) Set your make up with a setting spray.

I changed my hijab to show that is still a neutral look. Only a little more darker and smokier. I would wear this out in the daytime if I felt like. However, that's me. I've worn blue eyeshadow out because I felt like it so... Please ignore my eyebrow they look horrendous.

I will honestly say there are some steps that I would switch around. But, because I was freestyling and that's the order I went in to makes things work.
So, that's it!
What do you think? Would you like to see more looks with this eyeshadow?

Until Next Time,

Aleema :)

June Favorites!

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

June has ended therefore it's time for me to share my favorites. Also, Ramadan Kareem to everyone that will be observing the holy month. There are some things from my previous favorites post that I'm still using such as my Chocolate Bar palette, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, and my Beauty Blender. They won't be mentioned in this favorites but you can read my May favorites here.

1) Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Pandore

This one is a new love of mine. It's long lasting and very pigmented! You can read my review here.

2) Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer

This my go to when I don't want to wear foundation but I want some kind of coverage. It's a little pricey but it does what it needs to do. You can read my review of it here.

3) MAC Lipstick in Mystical + Jordana Lip liner in Sliver Lilac

The MAC lipstick is from the Alluring Aquatic Collection. This combination gives me a very natural looking lip color. When I wear the lipstick alone I don't like the way it looks on my lips. So, I wear the lip liner under it to give it more of a purple undertone.

I'm wearing this lip duo in the picture below.

4)Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

This foundation is another new love. It doesn't keep me matte all day, but it keeps me matte longer than most foundations that I've tried. I recently reviewed this foundation. I'm in the shade 6W1 Sandalwood.

5) Orange is the New Black

I haven't done a miscellaneous post about one of my favorite TV shows in a while so I decided to add one to this month's favorites. I surprisingly became hooked on this show. I've heard the hype but  didn't expect it to get drawn in. I watched all two seasons on Netflix in a week. That's how bad it was. I expected the main character Piper to be in the fashion industry because of the title of the show. But, she wasn't. Despite that the show is well written and addictive. I recommend it if you a lot of free time you need to fill. This show is for mature viewers so make sure you're of age and there are no children in the room with you.
So, That's it.
Until Next Time,
Aleema :)

May Favorites!

Asslamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

I'm hoping I get this out at a relatively decent time. I missed a few of these but I didn't really have any new favorites to put up. So, here's May's list:

1) Too Faced's Better than Sex mascara

I got a sample of this mascara in Sephora's Lash Stash to go. I plan to review all five of the mascaras I received in that set separately. This one will be the first. I will probably review it in my next blog post. Sneak peak: I love it. Obviously, it is in my favorites.

2) Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette*

My love for this palette has yet to fade. I'm not go talk about it much more detail. But, you can read my review on it here.

3) Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palette*

I've worn these two palettes non-stop since I bought them. You can read my review on this palette here.

4) Beauty Blender

I probably won't review this one but it is a definite favorite! It's worth the $20. It has become my preferred way blending out my tinted moisturizer, my foundation, and my concealer. It gives a very natural look. I remember the first time I used it with my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. A few hours later I thought that my face was getting oily but it wasn't. It was just the finish that I got with the beauty blender. Don't take that the wrong way! I didn't mean it negatively but it gave me a natural glow. It looked very much like my skin...just a better version.

5) Mac lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous

This was a wonderful find! One of the makeup artists at the MAC counter in Macy's suggested this color to me because I wanted a pink but nothing too bright and nothing that I already have. She showed me this and when I tried it on I knew I was buying it. It's a beautiful bright fuchsia perfect for spring and summer. The only thing I don't like about this lipstick is that at times it can make your teeth look a little yellow.

This a picture of me with it on:

6) Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer*

This is another favorite that I did a review on and you can read it here.
I've worn this tinted moisturizer most days when I don't want to go with full foundation.

7)NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer*

Clearly, once I find something I like I'm all about it. This concealer is just beautiful. Yes, I am raving. You can read my review on this concealer here.

8) Real Techniques Powder Brush

I was desperately in need of a new powder brush and have been eyeing the Real Techniques line for the longest. Finally, I was able to pick it up at a local drugstore near my university at a discount. I'm glad I bought it. It does what it needs to do. It's so soft and fluffy. The bottom of the handle is flat so it can stand by itself. It was little over $6 but I got a dollar off so around $5.

So, That's it.
Are any of these your favorites? What have you been loving this past month?
Until Next Time,
Aleema :)

Haul: MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

I remember seeing pictures of this collection when it came out in Europe. I took one look at the packaging and new I had to get something from this collection. However, I wanted to make sure to get something I would like and use. So, I looked up the collection. There were a couple blog posts and videos about it. Many of them were in different languages and that wasn't helpful. I did manage to get a little more information from promotional posts on blogs like temptalia.

I bought a mineralized eyeshadow in Silver Sun and two lipsticks in Mystical and Goddess of the Sea. I  placed this order a week ago as soon as the collection came out.

Silver Sun seems to be the underrated eyeshadow out of the entire collection. When I passed by the MAC store today it was the only shadow still in stock. But it's beautiful and unlike any color that I have.

On the MAC website it's described as a midtone dirty seafoam green. Although all of the other shadows are out of stock, this one is listed as coming soon. So, it might be restocked?

Mystical is described as midtone creamy rose, and goddess of the sea is described as a dark vibrant violet. They're both cremesheens and are very moisturizing. Mystical is an everyday color and goddess of the sea is a muted plumy color. So, it isn't as bold as MAC's Rebel.

Nothing else really caught my attention. So, I passed on everything else. I'm very pleased with all of my purchases. Did you pick up anything from this collection?

Until Next Time,
Aleema :)

Favorite Makeup Look # 2

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

This is another one of my favorite make up looks. It took more time than I would have preferred. I would probably wear this look if I was going out with friends.

All of the products that I used are in the picture above except for Maybelline color tattoo in the color 'Pomegranate Punk.'

1) I applied foundation using Maybelline's Superstay in the shade 'Caramel'
2) I used Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Darspot treatment eraser as an under eye concealer
3) I used my third blush in my Inglots palette- The pink one
4) I used Maybelline's color tattoo in 'pomegranate punk' all over my lid as a base
5) I applied 'Toasted' from the Naked palette on my lid below my crease
6) I applied a reddish brown color from the Sephora palette in my crease and blended upward; keep applying until you get the intensity that you want
7) I made a winged liner using the black gel liner in the Sephora palette
8) I applied 'Sin' from the Naked palette in my inner tear duct and 'Virgin' on my browbone
9) I applied Maybelline Colorsensation lipgloss in the color 120 'Plum Luster'
10) I applied MAC's 'Rebel' in the center of my lips

Comments? Suggestions?

Until Next Time:)

Review: MAC Lipstick in Rebel

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

I've seen this lipstick around on YouTube before but lately it just really caught my eye. I was like 'I need that in my life.' So, I bought it and now I'm reviewing it for you guys.

So above is a picture of the lipstick along with a couple of swatches. On the upper right is a picture of the swatch with the flash on and one the bottom right is a picture without the swatch. This lipstick is the perfect fall color. Although I can't experience fall here in Dubai I'm definitely feeling the spirit. It looks darker in the tube than it does swatched. Well, in person it looks darker in the tube. The flash in that picture on the left kind of lightened the color. It's a beautiful berry color.

This lipstick is a satin. So, it's a bit more moisturizing than a matte like my Lady Danger lipstick but it stays on for quite a while. It also has a slight sheen to it. This lip stick stains your lips. I like that because I find that reapplying lip products can be really bothersome at times. Usually I'm too lazy to do it. I bought this lipstick at the MAC counter in Dubai Mall for 100 AED. That's around 27 dollars. My impatience has caused me to get ripped off once again. These retail in the US for 15 dollars.

Above is a picture of the lipstick about a hour after I applied it. I couldn't take a picture as soon as I applied it because I was running late. I wasn't wearing a lip liner with this but I think I'll definitely look for one when I get back to NY. I can just imagine the looks I would be able to create with this lipstick if I paired it with different lip liners. I think the lipstick goes well with my skin tone. In fact I think anyone with any skin tone could definitely wear this lipstick!

So, if you couldn't already tell I love this lipstick. It has definitely become a new favorite of mine. If you're considering buying it you should definitely go for it!

So, That's it.
Until Next Time,

Aleema :)

First Impressions: Inglot Blush + MAC lipstick

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

On Wednesday I went to 34th street to buy a blush palette because I'll be going to the Caribbean on the 13th because my sister is moving there and wants company for the ride. So, I wanted one blush palette to take with me opposed to having 4 different blushes in my makeup bag. So, I started to search for one a week before I went to Inglot. I've heard that they're products are really good so I decided to go into the store and see if I liked their blushes. Also, the palette alone was much cheaper than MAC's so that helped me make my decision.

Above is a picture of the blush palette I customized. I wanted a range from a nice coral color to a pink. I've added the numbers of the colors to the picture. The colors 27 and 29 look much darker and brown online for some reason. But, those were the numbers on the packages the blushes came in. These blushes are very soft and pigmented. The texture is almost creamy. I've swatched the colors below.

63 was picked for me by a friend and the sales associate recommended when she saw that I selected it. So, I'm eager to see how it will look on me. The next thing I bought was a MAC lipstick. This is my first MAC lipstick. I'm still learning how to wear lipstick. It's not as easy as it looks.

This lipstick is in the color ladydanger. Orange seems to be my color for the summer. I wasn't so bold to go with orange and I had a feeling coral wouldn't show up on my lips so I got a reddish orange. In the picture to the left I put a gloss over it. It was one of Revlon's colorburst's in Sunset Peach.
So, That's it for now.
Until Next Time
Aleema :)
