Fall Makeup Must haves!

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

Since we're fully in the season of Fall, I thought that I would share my fall makeup essentials.

1. Rose Gold

For some reason rose gold seems especially relevant in the fall to me. So, this is the month that I pull out anything and everything rose gold. In the picture above I have my beloved Naked 3 palette and my BECCA rose gold highlighter.

2. Bold Lips

This one is a fall universal for everybody. Dark lips in the fall are more than appropriate they're almost a requirement. So, my picks are MAC's 'Rebel',Cailyn lipgloss, Maybelline's 'Divine Wine' and Plum lip gloss

3. Mauve lips

This a newer trend. I told myself I wouldn't talk about the Kylie Jenner lip trend, but here I am talking about it. Everyone wants the dark rose lip color. A suggestion from me would be Maybelline's 'Touch of Spice.'

4. Dark Eyes

Fall is the season of intense color. We see it in nature and we also reflect it in our makeup. Two of my picks for this are Colourpop Cosmetics eyeshadows in Bae and Shameless

5. Bold Cheeks

Just like every other part of the face, cheeks can be bold during the Fall. One blush that I particularly like that may be considered unusual is NARS' blush 'Taj Mahal.'

So, That's it.What are your fall essentials?

Until Next Time,

My Sephora Makeover Experience!

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

So, to celebrate the fact that my birthday was yesterday I decided to use my complimentary Makeover at Sephora. I recently became a VIB at Sephora over the summer and the welcome kit includes a free complimentary Makeover. It's only one time though. As opposed to VIB Rouge members who can get it for free anytime.

I decided to go out to eat for dinner with my friends and I would get my makeup done during the hour and a half before. In the confirmation I was told to come 10 minutes early. I ended up being only 5 minutes early. It didn't really seem to matter because my skin consultant came at the exact time I was booked for.

She asked me what my skin type was and left to go gather products. Then my makeup artist came and asked what kind of make up I wanted to get done whether it be smoky or bright. I told her bright and that she could do whatever she wanted. I was up for anything. Then she left to go get products.

My skin consultant came back and prepped my skin. My eyes were closed for most of the time so I can't remember everything she used on me. I only remember the things she made a point to tell me that she was using. She told me she was using cleansing wipes from First Aid Beauty and an acne treatment from Clinique. She told that she used an oil as my moisturizer. I was concerned about that messing with the makeup that was going to be put on next. But, it didn't.

My makeup artist came back to color match me to what I believe to be the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h. I don't know what shade but I think it's in 500 because I have a sample I'm trying out in that color. I didn't really care for the way this foundation wore on me when I tried it out previously but when she put it on it looked airbrushed.

Anyway, She showed me some purple eyeshadows from Make Up Forever's newly reformulated line and I gave her the go ahead. She spent quite a while focusing on my eye makeup. I don't mind at all because she ended doing a bright smoky eye on me and I know that requires a lot of blending. Also, she used the Benefit's They're Real Pushup liner and it seemed like she was having problems with it. It kept flaking onto my face. Even after my makeup was done I found a black speck here and there. She used the Anastasia Brow Wiz and the Dip Brow Pomade on my eyebrows.

She used a pinkish peachy eyeshadow from MUFE on my cheeks as a highlighter and it didn't emphasis my pores. She used NARS blush in Seduction on my cheeks. Lastly she used one of the new NARS lipsticks in the color Brigette I believe. She set my face using one of the Urban Decay setting sprays.

Here are some photos: I apologize my selfie taking skills were horrible that day!

After I ate. Some of my lipstick came off of course:

This one is after I returned. Was I wearing lipstick? Because I can't tell:

So, That's it.
Have had a makeover at Sephora? Did you enjoy it?

Until Next Time,

May Favorites!

Asslamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

I'm hoping I get this out at a relatively decent time. I missed a few of these but I didn't really have any new favorites to put up. So, here's May's list:

1) Too Faced's Better than Sex mascara

I got a sample of this mascara in Sephora's Lash Stash to go. I plan to review all five of the mascaras I received in that set separately. This one will be the first. I will probably review it in my next blog post. Sneak peak: I love it. Obviously, it is in my favorites.

2) Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette*

My love for this palette has yet to fade. I'm not go talk about it much more detail. But, you can read my review on it here.

3) Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palette*

I've worn these two palettes non-stop since I bought them. You can read my review on this palette here.

4) Beauty Blender

I probably won't review this one but it is a definite favorite! It's worth the $20. It has become my preferred way blending out my tinted moisturizer, my foundation, and my concealer. It gives a very natural look. I remember the first time I used it with my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. A few hours later I thought that my face was getting oily but it wasn't. It was just the finish that I got with the beauty blender. Don't take that the wrong way! I didn't mean it negatively but it gave me a natural glow. It looked very much like my skin...just a better version.

5) Mac lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous

This was a wonderful find! One of the makeup artists at the MAC counter in Macy's suggested this color to me because I wanted a pink but nothing too bright and nothing that I already have. She showed me this and when I tried it on I knew I was buying it. It's a beautiful bright fuchsia perfect for spring and summer. The only thing I don't like about this lipstick is that at times it can make your teeth look a little yellow.

This a picture of me with it on:

6) Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer*

This is another favorite that I did a review on and you can read it here.
I've worn this tinted moisturizer most days when I don't want to go with full foundation.

7)NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer*

Clearly, once I find something I like I'm all about it. This concealer is just beautiful. Yes, I am raving. You can read my review on this concealer here.

8) Real Techniques Powder Brush

I was desperately in need of a new powder brush and have been eyeing the Real Techniques line for the longest. Finally, I was able to pick it up at a local drugstore near my university at a discount. I'm glad I bought it. It does what it needs to do. It's so soft and fluffy. The bottom of the handle is flat so it can stand by itself. It was little over $6 but I got a dollar off so around $5.

So, That's it.
Are any of these your favorites? What have you been loving this past month?
Until Next Time,
Aleema :)

Review: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Assalamu wa Alaykum/ Hi,

Today I'm going to be reviewing the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. This is my second NARS purchase. My first one was a blush in the color Taj Mahal. I bought them both from the NARS website.  I like the fact that they gave free shipping but it took forever to get to me. I made my order on the weekend and they waited until Monday to send me a confirmation. I understand them waiting until a business day to do it. However, it took them 6 days to ship my order! I've never waited long than 4 days to receive anything in the mail. Maybe I'm just impatient. I digress.

This the box it came in:

I got the concealer in the shade Caramel. For my complexion, this shade highlights and conceals. I use it mainly under my eyes. I didn't use a concealer under it like some people recommend to cancel dark circles.

I'm in love with this product. When I first swatched it on the back of my hand it was so creamy and smooth like the name suggests. When I blended it out, it was so light. It creased a little on me but barely. It wasn't noticeable. I had to stand so close the mirror that my nose was practically touching it.
On the NARS website it does say that you can use it to cover blemishes. I don't think I will use it for that.

I bought this from the NARS website for $29. With tax it came up to about $32. It's expensive. I don't plan on using this on too much of a regular basis.

The photo above is a swatch of the concealer before I blended it (on the left) and after I blended it (on the right).

I'm pleased with this product. I don't really have any complaints. In the picture above it highlighted my under-eye area perfectly and blended out nicely.

So, if you were thinking of getting this product and don't mind the $29 price tag, go ahead. I think it's worth the price.

So, That's it.
Until Next Time
Aleema :)
